What is DebugView?
A real-time diagnostic hub inside the GA4 admin that lets you monitor events, parameters, and user properties exactly as they arrive from testing devices.
Unlike the older Universal Analytics real-time reports which were heavily aggregated, the GA4 DebugView operates on a second-by-second timeline.
When you activate preview mode in Google Tag Manager (or append the _dbg=1 parameter to a URL), your device is flagged for debugging. Your specific data stream is isolated in the DebugView, allowing developers to inspect the exact payload of complex e-commerce events and confirm that Custom Dimensions are populating correctly before pushing the tags to production.
